Grouse Grind

May 23rd, 2005 · No Comments

Well this may have been a break through workout.
Background I did not get home until 4am it was a late night out with the boys. 5 hrs later I was scrambiling up Grouse Mountain tired, slightly hungover and sore from the long run the day before, I was thinking maybe a 34-35:00 a solid tempo pace. After I swiped the card and checked my time in the Chalet it read 32:10!! this was a PB and it was painless I did not push and I was slowed by a large number of slow people. So what can I do if I go to bed early, stay away from the drink and get up early to avoid the crowds, maybe taper a day or 2? A sub 30 seems VERY doable. I think I will do a serious time trial the week after the HK. Maybe my blood is recovering, or is it my new secret climbing technique? Who knows the HK will be interesting that is for sure…
