Sun Run

April 23rd, 2006 · No Comments

I ran the Vancouver Sun Run on Sunday. I really didn’t want to do this because I have had a very bad cold which made me quite congested. I did it though because 1) It was my first year anniversary of meeting Tara (we met at a Sun Run after party. 2) I registered and it was soooo nice out. The race hurt me to say the least it was like sucking air through a straw my heart also felt like it might jump through my chest I did the Sudafed / Caffeine (now legal) thing to decongest, problem is they are both stimulants, at 2k I felt like I was redlining. Legs feel great though like I didn’t even run, probably because my heart/lungs wouldn’t let me push hard enough. Still I am glad I did it, I am part of history the race set a record 50,746 participants entered in this year’s race which makes it one of the larger road races in the world.

Tara and Cody both had huge PB’s in the race yesturday which is pretty impressive because they don’t really train. Jason did not have a great race probably because he stayed with Cody.
