This was a “recovery week” sort of with a race thrown in for training.
Mon: Off
Tue: Bike 1:10 / Run 50:00
Wed: Bike 1:10 / Run 45:00
Thu: Bike 1:10
Fri: Off
Sat: Seek the Peak race 16k over 4000ft of ascending 1:33:23. Good race my time was only off last years time by 20 seconds and I had a monster long run on Sunday leaving me with “heavy legs”. I remained very calm this race and did not worry about placement just tried to maintain a consistent pace /effort. Training for the Kneeknacker leaves you in no condition to compete in these “speedier” trail running events (I think 10k-1/2 marathon training might be optimal). Finishing 6th overall and winning my age category was a pleasent suprise (got some good swag out of it for age group, and winning 2 raffle draws!! == Very Good Day
Race results.
Sun: Easy run in the UBC endowment lands 1:05, my legs were a little thrashed, heel bruised from a stone and my right little toe feels like it may be broken, price you pay for wearing racing flats in a trail race. Might have to take tommorrow off training.
