Week started off badly my toe was very sore felt broken. Ended the week with a solid training run.
Mon: Off injured toe
Tue: Off injured toe
Wed: Off injured toe
Thu: Bike 35:00 / Run 57:00 very easy run toe hurt.
Fri: Bike 30:00 / Run 50:00 wore a old pair of 833’s seemed to help.
Sat: Easy Run 1:05 with Cody on the soft trails around Alice Lake in Squamish while we waited for Steve to finish the Test of Metal.
Sun: Kneeknacker training run first 3/4’s 4:53. This run was tough, this section includes the brutal climb up Black Mountain and the climb up Nancy Greene Way. Total ascending in this section is probably over 5000ft with alot of downhill also. My toe was in quite a bit of pain on the downhills I had to grit my teeth and squeeze the water bottles to relieve the stress. Alot of areas still had snow in the Cypress area, which made it very hard to follow the trail also, adding a good 30-40 minutes to the run time.
Great thing happened on the run though someone from the kneeknacker committee greated us at Cleveland Dam with Coke, Gatorade, cookies, chips and pretzels it was amazing. I was very sapped at that point, this gave me a really big energy boost! I seemed to fly up to Grouse Mountain catching all the guys ahead of me(except Mark Bates of course). Finished running with Lisa Polizzi man is she a solid runner.
