For the dozen or so of you that actually look at my site you may notice there has been a void of new posts. I have been away nursing a stress fracture, this has taken me out of running the whole Summer from the last week of June until mid-Sept. Well many might think this might be a good thing but it is very hard for a Junky who craves a quick running fix. You become irritable and angry that you can’t train and race. Fortunately I was able to get away on most weekends either to go visit Tara’s family at Harrison Lake or to do some backpacking which took my mind of my addiction.
Here are some of our summer adventures:
Visited the family in Saskatchewan, and took a trip up to Prince Albert National Park:
Cycling in Harrison/Hope area (these are the Othelo Tunnels at the start of the Kettle Valley Trail):
Backpacking trip up to Garibaldi Lake/Black Tusk area:
This is Tara with Garibaldi Lake in the background:
Hiked up to the Lions:
Relaxed on Salt Spring Island:
Did some hiking up at Cape Scott Provincial Park:
I love this photo of me next to a Giant Sitka Spruce in Cape Scott Park
So a good summer even if I couldn’t train and race. I had fun, gained some weight, lost some fitness but this will all come back.
