No training today due to Snow!

November 27th, 2006 · No Comments

Vancouver normally a wet mild climate has had a cold snap with a dump of snow. This may seem normal to most Canadians but here in Vancouver the city more or less shuts down because nobody has snow tires, the city does very little street cleaning and trees often fall and take out power lines (from the weight of the wet snow and ice). Anyways I had fun, UBC was closed so I went a stroll through my backyard (Stanley Park). It was amazing very few people in the park which made it very peaceful, the only noise was the odd tree crashing down. I had to do some serious bush whacking to get through some sections of trail due to all the fallen trees. Here are some photos from the Snow Day:

Very rare to see ice on Beaver Lake. You can see where some ducks have gone “ice breaking”.
